Ocean Shell
A flowing composition inspired by the movement of the ocean. Carved fan-shell relief across the whole slab turns the entrance into a piece of architecture.
The Ocean Shell is the most sculptural door in the pivot collection. Its entire face is carved in a pattern of overlapping fan shells, each one radiating fine ribs that catch grazing light from a porch fixture or the setting sun. The relief is cut into solid wood, so the shadows shift as you approach — the door looks different at noon, at dusk and under landscape lighting.
Shown in a deep charcoal finish with a slim brass-tone bar pull, the design also works in a natural mahogany stain, where the carving reads softer and warmer. It is a door for a house that wants a signature: coastal-modern estates, waterfront lots and entries framed by dark stone or ribbed glass, as in the setting pictured.
Like every door in this line it is built on pivot hardware, so the carved slab can be scaled to a true oversized opening — up to 144″ tall and 81″ wide under Florida Product Approval FL28370 — without side hinges interrupting the pattern. The carving depth, finish and pull can be adjusted to your project. The slab is built 3″ thick in solid mahogany.
