Why Custom Doors

Not a door you choose from a catalog.
A door we build around your home.

Up to 12 feet tall

Oversized entrances engineered to dimensions few manufacturers offer — pivots to 81″ × 147¾″, fully hurricane-rated.

Solid mahogany

3″ to 4″ thick construction with a staved engineered core, built for coastal humidity, sun and salt air.

Hurricane impact approved

Florida Product Approval FL28370 · tested to TAS 201, 202 & 203 for the High Velocity Hurricane Zone.

Built by us

Designed, engineered, manufactured and finished by one company, in our own factory — not sourced from a catalog.

Standard 36″ × 80″ Custom Doors Pivot up to 147¾″ × 81″ 81″ 147¾″
Engineering

12 feet tall. Hurricane rated.

Building oversized shouldn’t mean compromising hurricane protection. Our pivot entrances are Florida Product Approved under FL28370 — configurations up to 81″ × 147¾″, +65 / −65 PSF design pressure, large- and small-missile impact tested.

A standard front door is 36″ × 80″. Ours go to 81″ × 147¾″, fully hurricane-rated. That’s almost four feet wider and more than five-and-a-half feet taller — over twelve feet of vertical entrance, the height of two standard doors stacked.

Single openings up to 50″ × 120″, doubles up to 74″ × 120″, and pivot configurations to the full 81″ × 147¾″. Every dimension is held in our Florida Product Approval.

Construction

3-inch door. 8-inch frame. Built like architecture.

Most “premium” doors come in around 1¾”. Ours are 3 inches thick, set in a massive 8″ × 1¾″ laminated mahogany frame. The result feels different the moment you push it.

  • 3″ thick door panel

Solid mahogany with engineered core, marine-grade plywood reinforcement, top and bottom rails of 7½″ solid mahogany.

  • 8″ × 1¾″ massive frame

Laminated mahogany jambs and headers — the structural anchor that lets us hit hurricane code at oversized widths.

  • Engineered pivot hardware

Top and bottom pivot points secured with four ¼″ anchors each, rated to the full design load.

  • Triple weatherstrip system

Schlegel QEZ 320, AP 425 D, and QEBD 650 weatherstrips seal the door against air, water, and forced-entry pressure.

Security

Two 5-point locks. Ten steel bolts. One door.

Every pivot ships with two 5-point multi-point locking systems — one on each side of the door. That’s 10 separate steel bolts engaging the frame simultaneously. The same security architecture used on European high-security doors, doubled.

10

Locking points per door

Two complete 5-point sets, one on each vertical edge. When you turn the key or trigger the smart lock, all ten bolts engage in unison.

  • Fingerprint keypad

5 to 8-digit PIN codes, fingerprint reader, and traditional key — all in one keypad. Up to 100 codes for guests, contractors, or staff.

  • WiFi bridge included

Lock and unlock from anywhere using the smartphone app. Auto-unlock as you arrive, push notifications when kids get home.

  • Backup key, always

Lose your phone? Battery dead? A traditional physical key still opens the door. The smart layer never replaces fundamental security.

Finishes

Five standards. Or any color you can name.

Every pivot is hand-finished in our shop. Pick from our standards or send us a paint chip — we’ll match it.

FAQ

Common questions.

How big can your pivot doors be built?

Our pivot doors are built up to 147¾″ tall × 81″ wide — that’s over 12 feet of vertical entrance, fully hurricane-rated. We also build singles to 50″ × 120″ and doubles to 74″ × 120″. All sizes are held in our Florida Product Approval (FL28370).

Do you only manufacture wood doors?

Yes — we exclusively manufacture solid wood doors. We do not produce metal doors, aluminum doors, fiberglass doors, or fire-rated doors. Mahogany is the only species we work with because it has decades of proven performance in Florida’s climate.

What locking system comes with the door?

Every pivot ships with two 5-point multi-point locking systems — one on each vertical side of the door. That’s 10 steel bolts engaging the frame simultaneously when you turn the key. It’s compatible with our Custom Doors Smart Lock, which adds a fingerprint keypad, 5–8 digit PIN codes (up to 100), and a WiFi bridge for remote control from your smartphone.

What is the lead time for a custom pivot door?

After production starts, expect approximately 9 to 12 weeks for fabrication and delivery. Production doesn’t start until CAD drawings are approved, all paperwork is signed, and the 65% deposit has cleared.

Can I get any color finish?

Yes. We offer 5 standard finishes — Clear, Butternut, Dark Oak, Mahogany, and Espresso — and we can match any custom color a client specifies. Send us a sample, paint code, or even a photo of an existing door.

Are your pivot doors hurricane rated?

Yes. Florida Product Approval FL28370, signed and sealed by a licensed Florida Professional Engineer. Tested under TAS 201, 202, and 203 protocols for High Velocity Hurricane Zones. Design rating: +65 / -65 PSF, Large and Small Missile impact.
