Tambora
Part of our Pivot Doors collection →
Vertical fluting across a warm mahogany slab with a large carved wood ring at its center — a pivot door built around one bold shape. Solid mahogany, built to your opening.
The Tambora is faced with deep vertical flutes between two plain stiles. At the center of the door sits a large wooden ring with a crescent-shaped recess inside it, standing proud of the fluting and serving as the pull.
Low sun rakes across the flutes and makes the relief read strongly, while the ring gives the door a single focal point. Shown in a natural mahogany tone framed by glass sidelites and a transom, it can be finished lighter or darker.
Because it pivots on floor and header hardware rather than side hinges, the Tambora can be built as a true oversized entrance — up to 144″ tall and 81″ wide under Florida Product Approval FL28370 — while still swinging with one hand. It suits contemporary homes with generous, glazed entries where the door needs to hold its own.
