Matera
Angled seams and a vertical recessed pull turn the Matera’s face into a geometric composition — a walnut-tone mahogany pivot door with real movement.
The Matera is built from mahogany boards laid at opposing angles, with fine V-grooves between them, so the face is a pattern of diagonal seams that converge and diverge across the door. A tall recessed pull cut into the slab reads as one more vertical line in the composition rather than a piece of hardware. The pattern is cut so its centerlines fall on the door’s axis and the edges finish cleanly on every side.
Shown open in a warm walnut-tone stain inside a black-framed glass wall, with wood-slat walls and tropical planting — the angled grain catches light in facets as the door swings, which is what makes the Matera memorable.
Built on pivot hardware, it can be made up to 144″ tall and 81″ wide under Florida Product Approval FL28370, hurricane-rated for the High Velocity Hurricane Zone with two 5-point lock sets. Seam angles, stain and pull length are specified per project. The slab is built 3″ thick in solid mahogany.
