Merapi
Part of our Pivot Doors collection →
Two bands of triple diagonal grooves cut across a flush walnut-tone slab, crossed by a bold black bar pull. Solid mahogany, built to your opening.
The Merapi starts from a flush, uninterrupted slab and adds just two gestures: a pair of wide bands, each made of three parallel grooves, running diagonally across the face. The grooves catch light and shadow differently through the day, so the door changes character from morning to evening.
A tall, square-section black bar pull sits on the lock side, crossing both bands and anchoring the composition. Shown in a warm walnut-tone stain under a lit stone canopy, it can be finished in lighter or darker tones and paired with other pulls.
Because it pivots on floor and header hardware rather than side hinges, the Merapi can be built as a true oversized entrance — up to 144″ tall and 81″ wide under Florida Product Approval FL28370 — while still swinging with one hand. It suits contemporary and minimalist architecture where one strong graphic line is enough.
