“Working directly with Borano, we were able to custom-design a 12-ft. solid mahogany entry door for the Indiana home of an NBA basketball player, who proclaimed upon installation, that it looked like ‘a million-dollar door.’ The whole process went smoothly, with the door arriving carefully crated and on time.”

“Borano makes it easy to order online, and at the same time proved to me they handle problems promptly. When the interior trim didn’t match with my customer’s new eight-foot mahogany door, Borano quickly sent us replacement trim that matched perfectly. Everyone likes the fit, finish and the way the door complements the front of this large Mediterranean style custom home. I’m very satisfied with the product and Borano service.”

“We recently completed a large custom home in Ormond Beach, Florida, with both front and rear mahogany doors, custom built by Borano. The front of the house has two 9 ft. solid panel doors, while the back has mahogany-and-glass twin doors, with sidelights. Our customer couldn’t be happier with the craftsmanship and beauty.”

“Just have to tell you how pleased we are with our front exterior door. We were very impressed with all of the accessory pieces that came with the door. We were also impressed with how the door fit perfectly into our space. Everyone of our neighbors has commented on how beautiful this door is. In addition, all of the contractors and subcontractors working in our neighborhood on other homes have commented on how much they like our door. One contractor even described it as a “Hollywood door”. Thank you for producing such an excellent door. It is really like a piece of handcrafted furniture. Thank you for paying such close attention to detail. This door has exceeded my expectations.”

— Anonymous, Homeowner, San Diego, CA

“We got the entry door today and I was impressed with the Crating. The door was more than I had expected and the hinges were impressive, and the workmanship better than I had expected. Was also impressed the raised panels were set in a flexible material for expansion and contraction.”

— Gary Laursen, Homeowner, Bend, OR

A note from Borano: This customer’s dilemma provides reasons why it’s so important to purchase doors that are properly constructed like Borano’s. Our sales team has provided this customer with the perfect door design that won’t warp, and is built to last. “It’s a long story, but during the purchasing and construction process building our home we elected to use 500-600 year old cypress from the Louisiana swamps. Well, though all the doors were beautiful we had one heck of a time trying to get them to seal tight. The doors arrived on-site in late fall 2010 literally in pieces and we were left with a huge jigsaw puzzle trying to put them together. They also had extensive worm holes in them and in this area “Ocean City, Maryland” this application was not conducive to the harsh elements. By Summer of 2005, I convinced my Husband to terminate the installation of these doors. We had a total of 27 exterior doors at our home and replaced all but two doors. Our front Entry door and the side Garage door remain as originals. We should have replaced the doors at the same time but thought we would be able to salvage them because at least the Entry doors were under a covered balcony. Since construction was completed in 2006, now we have noticed that doors have warped and we are unable to fully close them. In late 2006, we installed hardware at the top and bottom to assist in the closure but now that is not an option with the warped doors. On the exterior of the doors we have full Pre-Cast Stone trim and we are concerned about keeping that intact during the installation of the new doors. We were told we might be able to only replace the slabs themselves and keep the jam but I am concerned about the proper weather tight seal of the doors. Do you have any recommendations for me as the best way to accomplish the replacement of my doors?

— Joanne Gilliam

“I meant to email you on Friday but somehow didn’t. We did receive the door and got it installed. It is beautiful. Thank you very much for all your help during this process. We have nothing but good things to say about our experience with Borano and we will share this with friends and family.”
